Groups at E-Olymp are small communities of users which help with learning and training. Teachers and team coaches can create groups for their students and hold private competitions among them, review solutions submitted by students, and generally simplify learning using the site. You can think of groups as a way to create a small copy of the site for your students.

On this page you can find information on how to create and delete groups and how to manage group members.

How to create a group

In order to create a group, you need to get coach permissions on the site. To do this, you need to write a request to the site administration using the feedback form. Make sure you are logged in before submitting your request. In the message, indicate that you want to get the coach permissions and briefly describe how you will use the groups (coach the team, use for teaching at school, university, etc.). We will review your request and grant you coaching permissions.

After receiving your response, sign out and sign in to your account for the permissions to take effect.

Go to the Groups page via the main site menu. And click on the yellow button in the lower right corner.

Fill out the form to create a group, enter the name and description of the group to make it easier for you to find it later.

Click "Create Group" to create a group. You can now start inviting users to the group.

How to invite users to a group

To invite users to a group, go to the Groups page, select the group you want to invite users to, and click the "Invitations" tab. Enter your username (nickname) and click the invite button.

The user will receive an invitation and will be able to accept it on the Groups - Invitations page. When the user accepts the invitation, he will become a member of the group.

How to leave the group

To leave the group, you need to go to the group page and press the exit button at the top of the screen.

Important, there must always be at least one administrator in the group, so the last administrator cannot leave the group.

How to remove a user from a group

To remove a user from the group, the group administrator must go to the "Members" page and click on the red cross next to the user.

How to disband a group

To dismiss (delete) a group, go to the group edit page and click "Disband Group".
